Fees, Insurance, and Good Faith Estimate
Fees & Accessibility
I believe quality therapy should be accessible to everyone in our diverse community. My fee structure is grounded in an anti-oppressive approach, designed to create more equitable access to care. This framework allows me to:
Provide accessible options through a sliding scale.
Sustain my practice, ensuring I can consistently offer high-quality, dedicated support.
Enable ongoing professional development, so I can bring the most effective and current methods to our sessions.
Fee Structure
Thrive Rate: $155 - $180 per session
This higher rate allows me to provide more accessible services to those who need them most, contributing to the overall equity of my practice.
Sustain Rate: $125 - $150 per session
This is my customary rate for individual therapy sessions. Paying at this rate helps maintain the ongoing health and operations of my practice.
Community Rate: $100 - $120 per session
This reduced rate is available for clients who can benefit from a slightly lower fee while still contributing to the practice's sustainability. Priority is given to clients who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or who are experiencing structural, systemic, or economic barriers.
Equity Rate: Below $100 per session
I offer a limited number of slots at this significantly reduced rate. Priority is given to clients who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or who are facing significant structural, systemic, or economic inequalities.
Questions to Consider When Determining Your Rate
To help you decide which fee tier feels most sustainable and equitable for your circumstances, please consider the following:
Financial Flexibility: Do you generally have disposable income after covering your essential needs (housing, food, utilities, etc.)? Are you able to comfortably meet your financial obligations each month?
Access to Resources: Have you historically had relatively easy access to financial support, intergenerational wealth, or robust safety nets (e.g., family support, significant savings)?
Impact of Systemic Factors: Do you experience significant financial strain or barriers that are connected to systemic inequalities (e.g., due to your racial identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, immigration status, or other marginalized identities)?
Investment in Well-being: What rate feels like a sustainable investment in your mental health without causing undue financial stress?
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost. Upon request, I will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of your therapy services.
Insurance
I accept clients with the following insurance plans through Grow Therapy: Aetna, Anthem, Carelon, Cigna, Kaiser, Magellan, and Optum.
I accept Medi-Cal clients from Contra Costa, Alameda, and Marin counties on a case-by-case basis. Please note I'm currently full for Contra Costa and Marin counties.
